Troutsman
The Troutsman is a fishing canoe that was inspired
by the AuSable Riverboat of northern Michigan.
The Troutsman is a shorter, wider and considerably
lighter than the traditional AuSable river boat. Two
people can unload the Troutsman from a car top or
trailer and transport it to a river or lake and launch
it. The bottom is 3/8" okume marine plywood and
the sides are 1/4" okume marine plywood. Both the
inside and outside are covered with fiberglass cloth
and epoxy resin with additional cloth on the chine.
Custom designs and Boulder-Busting Bottom are
available.
